Dan Woodard grew up in Middle-Tennessee in the town of Lebanon. When Dan graduated form Lebanon High School, he enlisted in the US Air Force serving a four-year enlistment and earning promotion to the rank of Sergeant. Dan was then accepted into the highly competitive Warrant Officer Flight Training Program of the US Army. He completed Warrant Officer Training School and Initial Entry Helicopter Flight training at Fort Rucker, AL and went on to successfully serve as a helicopter instructor pilot in multiple Army Aviation units, advancing to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 before his retirement from active duty in 2009.
After his military retirement, Dan continued to serve the United States as a contract helicopter pilot for the US Department of State, on aviation support contracts in Iraq and Pakistan. Following his contract civilian service overseas Dan and his family settled in Knoxville, Tennessee where he flew as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) helicopter pilot for the University of Tennessee Medical Center’s Lifestar program.
After more than 30 years of flying, in 2018, Dan decided to leave aviation and pursue his true lifelong dream of becoming an attorney. He attended Lincoln Memorial University Law School, where he graduated with honors.
After successfully passing the TN Bar and receiving his license, Dan joined The Garza Law Firm, one of East- Tennessee’s highest rated criminal defense firms. For three years, Dan dedicated himself to gaining invaluable experience in criminal defense representation and completed numerous educational courses, specifically in DUI defense and trial representation, preparing himself to provide the highest level of service to his clients.
