Alen Takhsh

Alen Takhsh is the Owner and Principal Attorney at TAKHSH LAW, P.C. and leads a successful and dynamic legal practice focused on Immigration Law and Removal Proceedings.

Alen has successfully represented clients in various proceedings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and San Francisco. He is keenly aware of the human element in every case, never losing sight of what is at stake.

In addition to serving individuals and families, Alen's work with small and mid-sized corporations and startups in various job sectors has afforded him the ability to analyze cases from multiple angles, especially those involving Immigration for employment, business and investment purposes. Continued referrals from past clients and colleagues alike are a testament to his approach to passionate and compassionate advocacy.

Alen received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of Chicago and his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School. In law school, he received an Honorable Mention for the Respondent's Memorandum at the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition in Vienna, Austria and the Third Best Oralist award at the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Alen also served as the Candidacy Editor for the Journal of Computer and Information Law (JCIL) and Federal Judicial Extern for the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the Northern District of Illinois.

In the spirit of community building, Alen serves on the boards of Heartland Alliance International and the National Immigrant Justice Center, two not-for-profit organizations under Heartland Alliance dedicated to providing housing, healthcare, jobs, justice and pro bono immigration services to those in need. He is also a volunteer attorney with the JMLS International Human Rights Clinic and the Moran Center for Youth Advocacy in Chicago and Evanston, respectively. In the past, Alen has served on the NexGen Board of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans since October 2009 and as its Co-Chair from 2012 to 2015.
