Brian Pakpour entered the Family Law Profession in Yolo County and Greater Sacramento with a refreshing philosophy: participants who enter the family court system should leave the process feeling healed, not broken.

Pakpour Family Law adopts a "family first" philosophy. Our legal assistance will never be used to cause unnecessary harm to individuals or their children. While we are always prepared to fight vigorously for your interests, we seek whenever and where ever possible to avoid lengthy and costly litigation.

The firm discusses with each litigant appropriate and inappropriate ways to communicate with other parties in the case, as well as the children affected by the litigation.

Pakpour Family Law applies this philosophy to every family law case, including divorce, legal separation, annulments, child custody, child support, visitation, spousal support, domestic violence, property distribution, and grandparent visitation.

Brian Pakpour is first and foremost a father, and a husband. Because of this, he understands the beautiful relationships individuals have with their significant others, their children, and their extended families. Brian is also a child of divorce. Thus he understands the heartache, despair - and sometimes relief - that so often accompany family break-ups.

Brian enters the family law profession with a refreshing approach to these proceedings: heal families; don't destroy them. In some cases, this means the family is going to look different than it did before. In other cases, this means a new family is created where there was none before. Either way, individuals should leave family court knowing their voices were heard, and with healthy attitudes about themselves and those they love.

Brian has worked for the Sacramento Family Court, assisting judges by answering complex legal questions. He also worked at Help-U-File Family Law in Sacramento, assisting individuals of modest means with their various family court needs, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, visitation, and property divisions.

Brian moved on to the Pro Bono Project in San Jose, assisting indigent individuals to obtain and enforce their domestic violence restraining orders and other family law orders.

Brian then created Pakpour Family Law to directly work for the citizens of Yolo, Sacramento, and Placer Counties. He also volunteers his time to Stand Up Placer in Roseville, assisting victims of domestic violence.

Brian graduated with a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law, where he served as comments editor of Law Review, and president of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association. While there he obtained the Pro Bono Law Certificate, recognizing the hours he contributed delivering pro bono legal assistance to those who could not afford it. He was also awarded the Public Interest Law Certificate, recognizing his consistent commitment to practicing law for the public good.

Before law school, Brian graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Arts in Philosophy, and Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. After spending ten years as a journalist, Brian left his first career to become a lawyer.

Brian originates from the Greater Philadelphia Region of Pennsylvania and is an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. When he has free time, he enjoys skiing, fishing, and spending time with his entire family.

Brian is a member of the Family Law Section of the California Bar Association, the Yolo County Bar Association, and the Sacramento County Bar Association (Family Law Section). He is also a proud member of the Iranian American Bar Association.
