Since it's inception, Curtis & Burnight has specialized in real estate and business law, providing a variety of services to local businesses and individuals.

We represent local real estate brokers, escrow holders and other real estate professionals by providing business planning, transactional and litigation services. We are also experienced in the negotiation, review and preparation of real estate purchase agreements, escrow instructions, residential and commercial leases, lease options, promissory notes, deeds, deeds of trust, and other real estate documents.

Legal services provided to our numerous business and corporate clients include:

-incorporation of new businesses and the preparation of all related documentation
-selection and formation of business entities such as corporations, general partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies (LLC)
-formation and representation of non-profit corporations and professional corporations
-providing ongoing business planning advice to corporate and business clients, assisting with corporate minutes, policy and procedure manuals, buy-sell agreements, business negotiations, employee and labor matters, construction law issues, business loans, security agreements, governmental issues and other business-related matters.

For years, our firm has represented clients in the buying or selling of a business, including the sale of business assets, bulk-sale transactions, and the sale of corporate shares and mergers. We are experienced at working with brokers, escrow holders and other professionals in such sales and are also equipped to handle transactions when there is no escrow or broker involvement.

Gregory J. Burnight joined the firm in 1991, upon admittance to the California bar. Greg is a principal in the firm. Greg specializes in corporate, real estate and business transactional law; trust and probate litigation and administration; and estate planning.

Greg was born and raised in Long Beach. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Social Science. Greg received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law Center.

Greg has been active in the Long Beach, Los Angeles County, Orange County and State of California Bar Associations. He served on the Board of Governors for the Long Beach Bar Association and is a past president of the Long Beach Barristers.
