Criminal Defense

Our firm is a full-service Criminal Defense firm. Whether you or a loved one faces misdemeanor charges or if you are looking at serious felony charges, we have the experience to handle your matter. No case is too small or too big for us to handle.

Our firm mainly handles matters in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area. However, we handle matters all across the State of Arizona if a client is seeking our representation in a distant county/city. We have found success across the State and country with one simple approach - do the work. We guarantee that we will leave no stone unturned in representing you or your family member. We guarantee our clients will get the best efforts from us so that they can make an intelligent decision regarding what to do in their criminal case. We understand this is your life, and pledge to fight for it like it was our own.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We believe that knowledge is power, but the source of information must always be considered. We encourage clients to educate themselves while also trying to provide all of the information needed so that they do not necessarily feel the need to look for answers themselves. Being informed is never a bad thing, so a client who understands her/his legal rights would certainly be welcome here.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Our firm is wholly committed to our clients. While many firms say that few can really attest to practicing in a client-centric manner. Our firm has yet to withdraw in a criminal case due to a payment issue and often times will work with the client to modify payment structures, due dates, etc. in order to make sure that the financial obligations to your law team in no way impacts the representation you receive.

We would never leave a client high and dry because we understand that what's at stake in a criminal matter is unique - a person's freedom. So whatever we can do to accommodate the changing circumstances we do for our clients. In addition, our firm is always a call away. Every client will receive the cell phone number to their attorney so that they may contact them whenever the need arises. Our clients are in for the fight of their lives, so we make sure that they are aware that the attorney on their case is right there with them.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes. We will review documents to assess a client's case if they bring documentation for us to review.

What are your firm's strengths and style?

Our strength is our connections to larger organizations. (Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, National Academy of Defense Lawyers, National College of DUI Defense Lawyers, etc.) Being active in these organizations allow us to attend continuing education functions that keep us aware of the newest changes in the law and keeps our practice on the cutting edge.

Our style is controlled aggression. We understand that everyone wants the "Bulldog," lawyer but some situations call for a little more nuance than the Bulldog is equipped to handle. We will review your case to determine what legal issues are apparent and what sorts of strategies will avail the best opportunity in your case. Then we will execute our plan of defense to achieve the results we seek. Everything is purposeful that we do in your defense.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Our firm certainly does provide Pro Bono legal services to the community. However, we generally find causes that we want to participate in and offer legal services to those in need. We do not solicit pro bono matters or accept cases pro bono that contact us by normal means (responding to an ad, or calling in for a consultation).

Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Yes, many times folks want a private attorney just to handle a portion of the case or to oversee the work of their appointed attorney. This called Knapp Counsel in Arizona. We certainly take on cases as Knapp in order to ensure that the best defense is being provided.
