The owner, Shawn was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Upon graduation from Oregon State University, Shawn attended the University of Oregon School of Law. During his second year of law school, he began working as a law clerk for the Corbridge & Short, in Hillsboro, OR exclusively on criminal and DUII defense matters.

As a third year law student, Shawn interned with the Lane County Public Defender's Office and upon graduation accepted a position at criminal defense firm in Portland. Taking on hundreds of cases and many to trial, Shawn trained under former prosecutors and and helped grow that firm. Shawn is certified by NHTSA and IACP to conduct field sobriety tests and uses that knowledge to assist his clients in DMV hearings and DUI trials throughout Oregon. As an NRA Licensed Pistol Instructor, Shawn has assisted in countless Concealed Handgun classes and helped advise a wide range of individuals from, instructing CHL Classes to obtaining and contesting a Federal Firearms License.

After working for over 7 years in Portland, Shawn grew tired of the gray and rain and moved his family to Bend, Oregon in 2016. For the final chapter, he opened Kollie Law, PC in Medford, Oregon and manages Oregon Gun Law.

Shawn is married and the proud father of twin boys. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, hiking, hunting, and shooting.

If you have a crime that qualifies under this list you may qualify for a Set Aside of your old conviction.

Enough time has to have passed from the conviction to the date you are requesting the crime to be set aside. This question starts the more complex portion of a Set Aside.
If you only have one conviction on your record you have to wait three (3) years from the date of conviction. That's it! One conviction; wait three years, and you are eligible for a Set Aside by the Kollie Law Group team.
If you have more than one conviction within the last ten (10) years, than you have to wait ten years from your last conviction to set everything aside. If you have one crime within that ten (10) year time-frame and the rest are outside, you may be able to set the most recent crime if it is more than three (3) years old.
Traffic violations do not count toward these time calculations. You are also allowed to have one (1) non-traffic violation (MIP, possession of marijuana, etc).
