Degan, Blanchard & Nash is a full-service law firm located in the New Orleans Central Business District, as well as in Baton Rouge, Louisiana's state capitol.
Degan, Blanchard & Nash is a full-service law firm located in the New Orleans Central Business District, as well as in Baton Rouge, Louisiana's state capitol.
Our attorneys are graduates of the top law schools in the United States, including Georgetown University, Tulane University, University of California-Davis, Louisiana State University and Loyola University. Our attorneys are licensed in Louisiana, California, District of Columbia and Texas, and have also been admitted Pro Hoc Vice in various courts throughout the United States.
We are centrally located in New Orleans and Baton Rouge to better serve our clients. Our two offices allow our Firm to meet existing and prospective clients and otherwise litigate our clients' cases in a coordinated fashion. We practice regularly in all state and federal courts in Louisiana, as well as in the courts of other jurisdictions, including Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Our attorneys have also litigated in, and advised clients concerning matters arising under the laws of several other states, including California.
In addition to the above, our attorneys have extensive trial, arbitration and mediation experience. The trial experience of the lawyers necessarily extends to both trial and appellate litigation in both the state and federal systems. Also, our legal staff provides guidance, advice, and representation to clients involved in the arbitration or administration of claims before administrative law judges, hearing officers, and committees of federal or state agencies.
The Firm has attained a Martindale Hubbell Law Directory AV rating and is listed in Best's Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys and Adjusters.
Our Philosophy:
We pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with our clients, and we believe that timely and effective communication is the key to maintaining excellent client relations. Although, as a matter of course, we keep our clients constantly updated as to the status of each matter entrusted to us, we view our role as extending well beyond the simple reporting of developments. We strongly believe that our clients' interests can be best served by encouraging each client to take an active role in the decision-making process with respect to each matter we handle. Accordingly, we provide our clients with accurate and concise statements of all available options, our legal analysis with respect to those options, and our evaluation of each option in light of our clients' goals. We then consult closely with our clients in formulating and implementing a strategic plan designed to realize those goals.
In short, we view our clients as valued participants in our representation of their interests, rather than mere customers to whom we deliver a product. We take pride in the work we do, and we take equal pride in our clients' participation in, and satisfaction with, our work. Our clients' interests are our interests.
In addition, the size and composition of the Firm affords us the unique opportunity to offer our clients personal service that is not always obtainable from large, less specialized law firms. This necessarily encompasses the close involvement of the partner responsible for the case in all aspects of the litigation or claims process, while permitting the economic utilization of an associate or paralegal for work of a less intensive nature. Thus, we are able to provide a highly cost-conscious defense and maintain a close working relationship with the company representative assigned to the claim, which often facilitates an early favorable resolution of the claim.
Our philosophy towards the practice of law is simple and straightforward. Degan, Blanchard & Nash strives to provide the highest quality legal services in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible, without regard to the size or complexity of the matter on which our counsel is sought. We accept nothing less than excellence in the practice of law, and our attorneys are committed to maintaining the highest standards of practice. In implementing these goals, we take advantage of our small size and staffing flexibility in order to provide personalized legal services tailored to each client's needs.

Loyola University Juris Doctorate, 1994
