Business

Whether creating a partnership, launching a new product/service, or entering into a contract impacts its legal standing, it is critical for a business to have a complete understanding of these legal issues and their implications.

Developing a deep understanding of the business, we offer our clients advice and solutions designed and tailored to their specific needs. Moreover, we strive to ensure our clients understand the full scope of their legal risks and implement measures that truly addresses the significant issues facing the business.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

There are certainly many sources available today that provide a potential client with the necessary information and documents to address their legal issues. These range from such websites as LegalZoom and even Nolo, to the unique offerings of the law practice of Robot, Robot, & Hwang, the area of law is becoming more and more self-service.

However, I've never witnessed any two cases exactly alike, even for simple transactional services such as establishing a will or trust, or forming a business entity. Each case always brought new, unique aspects that required a deep, thorough understanding of the law and how it affected my client. Even before utilizing these services, I always advise potential clients to at least seek a consultation with attorneys to get a full picture and sense of what legal challenges they face, and what courses of action they have available.

Gregory Testa

Greg has a passion for serving his clients, representing individuals and organizations in variety of legal matters. A certified privacy professional, his background includes over 25 years of experience working in various client and stakeholder-facing roles, including as an IT consultant for several Big 4 firms as well as finance and compliance roles for technology and manufacturing companies. His work prior to law includes performing data privacy assessments, system implementations, financial controller, business controls, and regulatory compliance. This experience compelled him to pursue a career in law.

While in law school, Greg clerked for the Consumer Protection Division of the Oregon Department of Justice. There, he was able to leverage his background to assist investigating reported data breach cases. Greg also gained considerable experience in other consumer matters involving credit collections, warranties, unfair business practices, and service contracts.

Greg’s extensive background and experience allows him to see how these areas intersect with the law; for example, how an organization’s compliance program factors into its protection of PII data. His dedication to serving clients and his deep interest in the legal aspects of technology, business, consumer, data privacy and IP law led him to start his own private practice.

In his spare time, Greg enjoys hiking, climbing, cycling, cooking, and spending time with his dog.
