What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
An entrepreneur needs to know as much as possible about all aspects of his or her business. Understanding the legal issues that affect your business is essential to success.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I'm cool with it. I had a client draw up a complicated subscription agreement to raise capital and he did a great job. I made some modifications and he raised the money.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
Perfectly willing.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
Practicing small business law allows me to use my entrepreneurial experience and legal training to make a living by sharing my knowledge with cool people.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
A lifetime of entrepreneurial activities has taught me the ins and out of starting and running a business. I share my client's perspective and relate to them not merely as an attorney, but rather as one who has experienced similar struggles and challenges.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
Because small business owners are my kind of people.

What do you like best about your career?
I earn a decent living by doing something I am passionate about. What more could you ask for?

Tell us about your law firm:
I am a solo practitioner but have built a hearty network of attorneys in other practice areas to help my clients.

What are your strengths and style?
I'm an empathic listener and always try to get at the heart of the matter with my clients. I work tirelessly to help my client's succeed. I am always accessible and believe strongly in communicating frequently with my clients.

Personal Interests:
I am obsessed with playing the drums and am into all kinds of music, especially jazz. I am also a rabid Mets fan. I'm also not too shabby in the kitchen and love to cook.
